A seminar series in which in-house and external speakers will present seminars on research as well as broad and relevant issues to agriculture, aquaculture and aquatic systems, and agricultural engineering. Students taking for credit are required to attend all sessions and present a short presentation on a relevant topic. This course is recommended to all AARM and ICZM students

Definitions of aquaculture and aquatic resource systems, science and systems, development issues, population and food, poverty alleviation and sustainable development; holistic systems approach to understanding resource poor livelihood systems; aquaculture and aquatic resource systems classification; status and potential of aquaculture in Asia; institutions and support services; strategies for promoting the sustainable development of Asian small-holder aquaculture and aquatic resource systems

ED 71.26 Mangrove Ecosystem Management, 3(3-0)
The theoretical part treats aspects of life cycles and biological adaptations; ecology of mangrove ecosystems; fishery and aquaculture linkages to mangroves; principles of mangrove restoration and sustainable management and it is being taught on-campus with e-learning courseware. The file trip takes the students to the Ranong biosphere for hands–on experiences of the theoretical concepts.
