Overview
The English Program at Arkansas State University has twenty full-time graduate professors whose interests range from medieval romance to the contemporary American novel and from Chaucer to creative writing. Most have earned doctorates at such universities as Indiana, Duke, Texas, Chicago, Iowa, and Michigan State. In addition, our teachers are productive scholars and writers, having published over twenty books and several hundred articles. Several have won awards for excellence in teaching and research.

Students electing to complete the B.A. in English with the Optional Concentration in Writing must takeone writing course as part of the “Theory, Writing, and Language” requirement for all majors.
